Chief LED Outdoor Lighting Installation Technician


Location: Nashville area
Job Type: Full-Time
Travel: Up to 40%


Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Chief LED Outdoor Lighting Installation Technician to lead on-site installation of LED outdoor lighting projects across residential, commercial, landscape, and architectural locations.


This hands-on field role will install and test lighting systems, coordinate crews and materials, troubleshoot technical issues, and serve as the on-site representative for customers, contractors, and project teams. The ideal candidate has strong low-voltage lighting experience and can lead a crew while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and customer service.


Key Responsibilities



  • Install LED outdoor lighting fixtures and systems according to project plans and designer specifications.

  • Assist the Installation Manager with project planning, site layout, wiring, mounting, aiming, testing, and completion.

  • Lead, train, and mentor field technicians on installation procedures, safety, and company standards.

  • Serve as the on-site liaison between designers, customers, contractors, and installation crews.

  • Perform site assessments and troubleshoot installation and technical issues.

  • Ensure work meets safety requirements, electrical codes, project specifications, and quality standards.

  • Assist with crew scheduling, assignments, materials, equipment, and job-site logistics.

  • Prepare daily progress reports and document site conditions throughout each project.

  • Represent the company professionally with homeowners, contractors, vendors, and project partners.

  • Travel to regional and national project sites as required.

  • Maintain accurate rolling inventory and ensure the company vehicle, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for daily work.


Qualifications



  • Experience in outdoor lighting, landscape lighting, electrical work, low-voltage systems, or a related field.

  • Experience leading or supervising an installation crew preferred.

  • Strong technical knowledge of low-voltage LED lighting systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, layouts, and wiring diagrams.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
