Job description

Murray County Central Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered Elementary Paraprofessional to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. This position plays an important role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally while working alongside outstanding teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities.
  • Provide academic support to individual students and small groups.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Help supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school functions.
  • Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and daily routines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support student success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Paraprofessional certification or the ability to obtain certification (or meet Minnesota requirements) preferred. (MCC can help with certifciation)
  • Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow.
