Job description:Be the steady hand that ensures excellence for every Moyer move.If you love building systems that make complex operations run smoothly and enjoy mentoring a team toward higher performance, this role may be a fit for you! We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Operations who can take ownership of every moving part of our move management operations, from the field staff dispatch to the final walkthrough. This job is part operations strategist, part team leader, and quality champion above all else.
In this role, you'll oversee the full operational engine behind Moyer's relocations: leading and mentoring a team of operations managers, coordinators, and field personnel, monitoring day-to-day service delivery, and driving the continuous improvement that maintains our standards for client experience and prioritizes internal efficiencies. You'll also work closely with the sales and customer service teams to make sure every client's needs are understood and met from estimate through move day.
Beyond the day-to-day, you'll own the resources that make moves happen: labor, equipment and supplies and vendor relationships. That means optimizing how crews and materials are deployed and shopping vendors to get the best combination of price and quality.
You'll also be the person who makes sure we do things the right way, every time. That includes building and enforcing quality control procedures, conducting audits and performance reviews, and championing the safety protocols and staff training.
What you'll actually be doing:Operational Leadership Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve company goals and objectives
Lead and mentor a team of operations managers, coordinators, and field personnel
Monitor day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to timelines
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the operations team
Provide operations support for back office, coordinate with our sister company operations team and sales team systems, protocols,
and operations management
Optimize resource allocation, including labor and materials, to meet project demands efficiently
Client Relations Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand client needs and expectations
Ensure seamless communication with clients throughout the relocation process, addressing any concerns or issues promptly
Implement customer feedback mechanisms to measure and improve client satisfaction
Quality Assurance Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest level of service quality
Conduct regular audits and performance assessments to identify areas for improvement
Implement corrective actions and preventative measures as needed
Training and Safety Develop and maintain safety protocols, training programs, including leading software training for personnel
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, taking corrective actions as necessary
You may enjoy this role if you: Like turning scattered moving parts into smooth, replicable systems
Enjoy coaching and developing a team of managers and coordinators
Take pride in being the person who catches problems before clients ever see them
Are energized by variety
Like partnering closely with sales and client-facing teams, even though you're not in a sales role yourself
Are comfortable owning outcomes across an entire operation, not just one piece of it
This role may not be for you if: You prefer staying in one lane rather than overseeing many moving parts at once
You're not comfortable holding others accountable or having tough performance conversations
You'd rather execute a plan than build and improve one
Compliance, safety protocols, and documentation feel like a distraction rather than part of the job
You need a highly predictable schedule with no unexpected fires to put out
What it takes to succeed:Strategic operational leadership: You can develop and execute operational strategies that tie directly back to company goals, not just
keep the trains running on time.
People leadership: You have experience leading and mentoring a team of managers, coordinators, and field personnel, and you know
how to build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional collaboration: You work well with sales and customer service teams, translating client needs into operational reality
and closing the loop with feedback.
Resource management and continuous quality improvement: You're skilled at optimizing labor and materials, while maintaining
Moyers standards of service through thoughtful quality control oversight.
Tech-savvy: You embrace using technology in general and you are willing to learn new software platforms to manage your day-to-day
work.
Apply If:You love being the person who turns operational chaos into a well-run machine, and you take as much pride in your team's growth as you do in a flawlessly executed move.
How to Apply:Applicants are asked to submit a resume and three professional references. In lieu of a cover letter, please submit a response no longer than 500 words to the following prompt: Please describe a time you identified and implemented a strategy to improve customers experiences and/or service/product quality. Submit your resume, references and response to the prompt in a single PDF document. Applicants who do not follow instructions will be disqualified. Given the volume of applicants, we will only be able to respond to those who are selected for an interview.
