Help engineer the future of heavy-duty transportation. Motive Workforce is seeking an Electronic/Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, test, and launch advanced battery-electric locomotive systems.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys working where high-voltage power, embedded controls, hardware, and real-world testing come together.

What You'll Do:

  • Design electrical architectures, schematics, PCBs, and wire harnesses
  • Develop and integrate STM32 embedded controllers
  • Work with 1,500V+ DC high-voltage systems
  • Implement CAN Bus, Ethernet, Modbus, I2C & SPI
  • Support EMC/EMI mitigation and high-voltage protection
  • Perform system integration, troubleshooting, and automated testing
  • Work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, test, and manufacturing teams
  • Help take systems from prototype to production

What We're Looking For”

  • B.S. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of electrical/electronic systems design experience
  • Hands-on high-voltage DC experience
  • PCB/schematic design experience; KiCad a plus
  • Embedded controls and electromechanical integration experience
  • Wire harness and cable-routing knowledge
  • Comfortable working hands-on in prototype and production environments

Bonus: Battery-electric vehicle, BMS, marine, industrial, locomotive/rail, safety-critical, or EN 50155 experience.

This role provides an opportunity to join and collaborate closely with the team on a three-month project, with the potential to transition into a full-time direct position based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit.
