Job description

Summary:
Cable Technicians are responsible for the proper installation and troubleshooting of various cables, structured cabling systems, and most voice or data systems installed by Moss. Our success relies heavily on the skills of our technicians and their dedication to their role. New employees develop their skills and work ethic by learning from the example set by our technicians.


Essential Functions
  • Install copper and fiber optic cabling for voice, data, video, and sound systems without supervision.
  • Operate, configure, and save results using test equipment for structured cabling, including both copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Set up telecom closets to maximize the efficiency of equipment and space utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable telecommunication standards and building codes.
General Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Represent the company professionally in communication, appearance, and work habits, ensuring crew members also follow these standards.
  • Clean, maintain, and keep inventory of assigned company vehicles and tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in accordance with industry guidelines.
  • Follow instructions precisely and complete tasks as efficiently as possible
