Position Summary

Montgomery County Middle School is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School ELA Teacher to cultivate strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in students. This position emphasizes engaging, student-centered instruction supported by high-quality curriculum resources designed to build literacy across a variety of texts and genres.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to state standards
  • Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a variety of texts and strategies
  • Utilize provided curriculum resources to support literacy development and student engagement
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Foster critical thinking, discussion, and effective communication skills
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
  • Provide meaningful feedback to support student growth in writing and comprehension
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and interdisciplinary learning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; English, education, or related field preferred
  • Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
