Overview

  • Understands and adheres to the Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. ADA
  • Prepares and positions patients correctly for breast examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required questionnaires. ADA

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed images for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered. ADA
  • Assists physicians during procedures and performs nursing duties as necessary. ADA
  • Maintains all necessary records in EPIC, PACS, and patient logbooks. ADA
  • Performs quality assurance and calibrations as needed. ADA
  • Technologists are required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. ADA
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all areas, equipment and accessories. ADA
  • Reports all malfunctioning equipment to radiology supervisor. ADA
  • Keeps rooms well stocked and monitors supplies. ADA

Requirements

  • Performs routine office duties, such as answering the phones, checking previous reports/ films, documents information on patients request, utilizes EMR and PACS systems. ADA
  • Notifies front desk staff upon exam completion. ADA
  • Shows radiologist images and calls report to attending physician and documents communication if necessary (STAT readings). ADA
  • Introduces themselves and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered. ADA
  • Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff. ADA
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned. ADA
