Description of Duties
This position is located at Monroe Community Hospital or the Monroe County Department of Human Services. At Monroe Community Hospital, this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to convalescent and chronically or seriously ill patients. When located at Monroe County Department of Human Services, this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to youth residents housed in the Children's Detention Center. This position is distinguished from Licensed Practical Nurse by virtue of being responsible for supervising and training subordinate staff in a unit and performing specialized and more complex duties. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse or other higher-level staff member. At Monroe Community Hospital, general supervision is exercised over subordinate staff such as Nursing Assistants and Unit Aides. When located at Monroe County Department of Human Services, general supervision is exercised over Licensed Practical Nurses.Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing (RN) license or valid New York State Licensed Professional Nursing (LPN) license.
