Job description
Mockbee Ellis, P.A. is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our law firm in Madison, Mississippi. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in gaining hands-on experience in civil litigation while working alongside experienced litigators in a professional and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with all phases of civil litigation
- Conducting legal research and drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
- Managing written discovery and document production
- Preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties
- Managing deadlines and maintaining an organized caseload
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Mississippi and in good standing
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required
