Work Environment

This covered position operates from a remote setting, allowing our Licensed Mental Health Counselor the flexibility to work from home while remaining dedicated to client objectives. Our community health clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including electronic health record systems like AVATAR, to efficiently manage client information while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to accurately document client cases from the initial consultation through the entirety of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to inform personalized treatment strategies.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, adapting to their unique needs.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions with a focus on recovery-based outcomes.
  • Monitor client progress continuously and adjust treatment plans as necessary while keeping meticulous records of all developments.
  • Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including social workers, psychiatrists, and primary care providers, to optimize integrated care approaches.
  • Follow up with clinical teams regarding clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring smooth transitions back into community care.
  • Recognize and proactively intervene against any behaviors or patterns that could hinder recovery efforts.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Mind and Behaviour Counseling Center, you will be working with a diverse and varied client population, ranging from individuals facing acute mental health crises to those seeking ongoing support for chronic conditions. Our clients include adults, couples, families, and adolescents representing multiple cultural backgrounds and experiences, allowing for rich and varied therapeutic interactions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California is required.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses and treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience handling various mental health issues, including those paired with physical or addiction problems.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and evidenced-based therapies.
  • In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their impact on mental health treatment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
