Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying specific emotional and mental health care needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that address emotional difficulties associated with aging, such as grief, loss, and life transitions.
• Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary healthcare providers to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for each client.
• Educate families and caregivers on relevant emotional health strategies that enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Lead specialized grief and loss sessions designed for residents and their loved ones, providing emotional support during challenging times.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and mental health interventions tailored to promote cognitive well-being among elderly clients.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to ensure the highest standard of care and client satisfaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on elderly clients facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues. By utilizing a tailored therapeutic approach, you will directly impact the emotional and psychological well-being of seniors, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered in their journey towards mental health recovery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited university.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience providing psychiatric counseling and mental health support, specifically to elderly individuals.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities applicable to geriatric clients.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling strong connections with clients and their families.
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity in working with diverse populations.

Preferred Experience

• Additional training or certification in geriatric mental health or aging-related issues.
• Experience with telehealth delivery models, including familiarity with digital counseling tools.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal issues related to mental health counseling in the state of Florida.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, along with a potential sign-on bonus. Benefits include:
