Job Description
Job Title: Special Services Paraprofessional
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
* Expierence in working with disabled populations preferred
* 60 college credit hours or pass the Paraprofessional Praxis
Responsible to: Building Principal/Director of Special Services/Special Services teacher to whom
assigned.
Primary Function: To assist special services teacher to whom assigned and to work with students
assigned to that teacher.
Specific Duties:
Program Operation:
* Prepare materials as assigned.
* Provide services to students as assigned.
* Provide for individual differences.
* Assist students in completing assignments.
* Assist students in moving about the building.
* Demonstrate knowledge in working with disabled population.
* Use time effectively.
* Communicate effectively with students.
* Communicate effectively with staff.
Classroom Management:
* Assist to organizing classroom to promote learning.
* Demonstrate knowledge in working with students with behavior problems.
* Follow classroom management procedures as set by teacher.
Interpersonal Relationships:
* Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students.
* Demonstrate patience, respect and understanding for students.
* Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff.
* Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with parents.
Professional Responsibilities:
* Participate in professional growth activities.
* Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm toward work.
* Follow the polices and procedures of the school district.
* Follow guidelines developed by the teacher.
* Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
