Role Description The Metal Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Willoughby, OH. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for sheet metal products, ensuring efficient production, quality, and safety. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing product designs, creating and updating process documentation, specifying tooling and equipment, and working with production staff to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. The Metal Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with design, engineering, and quality teams to improve workflows, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves monitoring production metrics, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, including forming, cutting, welding, and finishing.
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering tools such as CAD software, process documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of materials used in metal fabrication, including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify process issues, and implement practical improvements.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices, including inspections, tolerance control, and root cause analysis.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and production personnel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience in metal fabrication or related manufacturing environments is preferred.
