We create unforgettable seasonal experiences for hundreds of thousands of guests each year through immersive attractions, and a team that knows how to work hard and have fun doing it.
Builder / Project Manager
Full-Time
The Dead End Hayride
Location: Wyoming, MN
The Dead End Hayride is seeking a highly skilled, creative, and driven Builder / Project Manager to help lead the future of one of the nation's largest haunted attractions. This is a full-time, year-round position for someone who thrives in large-scale themed construction, immersive environments, and problem solving under pressure.
We are looking for an experienced builder and project leader who can take projects from concept through completion while maintaining high standards in craftsmanship, safety, organization, and execution.
Position Overview:
This role is responsible for overseeing and participating in the design, planning, construction, installation, maintenance, and ongoing development of large-scale haunted attraction sets, structures, scenic environments, and immersive guest experiences.
The ideal candidate has experience in construction, themed entertainment, fabrication, project management, or a related field and understands how to balance creativity with functionality, timelines, budgets, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage large-scale build projects from concept through completion
  • Construct scenic environments, haunted attractions, themed structures, facades, props, and immersive experiences
  • Read and interpret plans, layouts, measurements, and construction concepts
  • Coordinate materials, timelines, labor needs, and project priorities
  • Work alongside ownership and creative teams to bring concepts to life
  • Operate tools, equipment, lifts, utility vehicles, and construction machinery safely
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high-quality standard
  • Maintain organized workspaces, shop areas, tools, and inventory
  • Troubleshoot structural, operational, and build-related issues
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance, repairs, tear down, and future expansion projects
  • Work independently when needed while also collaborating within a team environment
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, inspectors, and leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in construction, carpentry, fabrication, scenic design, themed entertainment, or project management
  • Strong understanding of building methods, materials, and structural problem solving
  • Experience working with permits, inspections, and code compliance is highly preferred
  • Ability to think creatively and develop out-of-the-box solutions
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
  • Leadership experience managing projects and crews
  • Ability to adapt quickly and pivot when challenges arise
  • Experience with haunted attractions, entertainment production, events, or immersive experiences is a major plus

Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working at heights, on lifts, ladders, and uneven terrain
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Full-time availability year-round

Compensation:
Pay is negotiable and dependent on experience.
This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-growing entertainment operation that values creativity, innovation, and people who know how to build things that leave a lasting impression.
