Job SummaryThe Micro Trench Laborer supports micro-trenching operations for the installation of underground utilities, primarily fiber optic conduit. This role involves hands-on labor, working closely with equipment operators and crew members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project completion.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Micro Trench Operator during trenching operations
- Install conduit, duct, and related materials in micro trenches
- Perform site preparation and cleanup, including surface restoration
- Hand dig, shovel, and compact material as needed
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment
- Assist with traffic control, barricades, and workzone safety
- Identify and protect existing underground utilities
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
Required Qualifications- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Preferred Qualifications- Construction, utility, or fiber optic experience
- Experience working around underground utilities
- OSHA 10 certification
- Traffic control or flagging certification
Physical Demands- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and walking
- Use of hand tools and power tools
Work Environment- Outdoor construction sites in residential and commercial areas
- Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment
- May require travel between job sites
