Job description

The Pediatrician specializes in caring for young individuals, from babies to young adults. Their primary duties include providing general medical care for children, conducting immunizations for infants and children, and monitoring their growth and development.
Schedule:8am-5pm / Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, monitor, and treat children who are injured, ill or living with disabilities.
  • Perform comprehensive examinations on newborns and children to identify abnormalities and check for normal growth and development.
  • Prescribe treatment methods, including administering medication, perform surgeries, and other therapies.
  • Discuss diagnosis and treatment plans with parents and children.
  • Order tests and refer patients to specialists.
  • Advise patients and their family members on medication use, nutrition, and preventive measures.
  • Create patients' medical reports to support other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education / Licenses:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree required.
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved post-graduate residency, or equivalent in pediatrics.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
  • Current, unrestricted Florida state specific DEA license.
  • Current board certification appropriate for degree or be board eligible and certified within five years of employment.
  • Meet all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required for hospital appointment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
