Job description

The Shaw Group is one of Eastern Canada's leading natural resource manufacturers focused on products for the construction industry. Shaw Precast Solutions, a division of The Shaw Group, is known for our commitment to provide high quality concrete pipe and manhole products since 1945 and we take pride in our ability to customize highly specialized products.

We are currently recruiting for a Mi-Jack Operator. The successful candidate will be required to be a team player and to safely operate the Mi-Jack gantry crane. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and flexibility with schedules are required to achieve operational goals.

The successful candidates will also:

- Work in a safety sensitive environment

- Be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision

- Be reliable, punctual, and take pride and ownership of their work

- Be detail-oriented and organized

- Able to read and understand construction drawings competently

- Organize and set up complex lifts according to safety and operational requirements (e.g., rigging, etc.)

- Be a safe and competent overhead crane operator and must possess OH crane license

- Be willing and able to teach others on the safe execution/operation of lifts

- Able to lift up 50 lbs. regularly and 80 lbs. occasionally (team lifts)

- Other duties, as required, per business needs

The hours of operation are per the collective agreement. Flexibility to work overtime is considered an asset.
