As we continue expanding nationally, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Production Manager who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, food safety requirements, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.
This individual will provide leadership to production personnel, optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, minimize downtime and waste, and maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily production operations to achieve production schedules while maintaining quality and food safety standards.
  • Supervise production employees, leads, and supervisors while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Ensure all production equipment is operating efficiently and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and operational issues to maintain uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor and control production variables, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA, OSHA, and all company food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Planning departments to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Production efficiency
    • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
    • Downtime
    • Waste reduction
    • Yield
    • Labor efficiency
    • Schedule attainment
  • Develop and coach production employees while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate production goals, priorities, and safety expectations.
  • Prepare production, incident, and operational reports as required.
  • Participate in audits and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Previous experience managing multiple production lines and production personnel.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and production planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts and overtime as required.
Preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with SQF-certified facilities.
  • HACCP and GMP training.
  • Manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand and walk throughout the production facility.
  • Climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl.
  • Lift and move 10-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, machinery, noise, and extended shifts as needed.
