Role Description

The General Manager for Holiday Inn Elk Lake, a full-time hybrid role based in Victoria, BC, oversees the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and adherence to brand standards. Responsibilities include leading and motivating staff, managing budgets, maintaining customer satisfaction, implementing marketing initiatives, and ensuring departmental coordination. While the role requires on-site presence, there is flexibility for some work-from-home tasks. The General Manager will also liaise with corporate leadership to align the hotel’s operations with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
• Food and beverage experience
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and operational planning
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, guest services, and hotel operations
• Marketing and strategic planning skills, including experience in driving brand awareness
• Proficiency in problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution
• Technical proficiency with property management systems and relevant software
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity and fluently manage on-site and remote responsibilities
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management or the hospitality industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
