Metro Cinema is a luxury private cinema and hospitality concept created by the founder of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Located in Chelsea, NYC, Metro features 20 private screening suites that host everything from movie nights and sporting events to birthdays, corporate meetings, gaming experiences, karaoke and full-scale private events.

Guests don't simply buy movie tickets.  They book curated experiences featuring private theaters, elevated food and beverage offerings, premium service, and unforgettable hospitality.

We are seeking exceptional Food Runners to help deliver the luxury experience Metro is known for.

The Role

This is not a traditional food runner position.

At Metro Private Cinema, our Food Runners are an essential part of the guest experience. Every meal is served inside a private luxury cinema suite, requiring exceptional timing, attention to detail, professionalism and impeccable communication.

Our Food Runners work closely with the culinary, service, bar and management teams to deliver an elevated dining experience where every course arrives accurately, beautifully presented and at exactly the right moment. The role demands urgency without sacrificing hospitality and precision.

What You'll Do

Food Delivery & Service

• Deliver food to private cinema suites quickly, accurately, and professionally
• Ensure every dish is presented beautifully and matches Metro's quality standards
• Coordinate closely with Servers, Guest Services, Culinary and Bar to maintain seamless service
• Follow course pacing to ensure meals arrive at the appropriate times throughout the guest experience
• Verify orders before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy

Guest Experience

• Interact with guests warmly and professionally while delivering food
• Anticipate guest needs and communicate requests promptly to the service team
• Assist in creating memorable hospitality moments through attentiveness and professionalism
• Help maintain a quiet, polished atmosphere throughout the building

Operational Excellence

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, hallways and runner areas
• Restock supplies and assist with opening and closing duties
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams regarding ticket status and guest needs
• Assist with suite resets and operational support as needed
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Team Support

• Support Servers, Bartenders, Culinary and Managers during service
• Jump in wherever needed to ensure exceptional guest experiences
• Help maintain a positive, collaborative team environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement of service standards and operational procedures

What We're Looking For Required

• 5 years of previous restaurant or hospitality experience required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to lift and carry food trays safely and comfortably
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Preferred

• Fine dining or upscale hospitality experience
• Food runner, server assistant or support staff experience
• Passion for hospitality, food, film, and guest service
• Experience working in high-volume restaurant environments
