We provide a solution that combines advanced software, radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, a dedicated customer-support team, and a secure database to track and trace cannabis from growth, harvest, and processing to testing, transport, and sale. 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong understanding of AI harnessing and engineering to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems that power our enterprise applications. This role focuses on server-side development using modern technologies assisted by AI workflows, ensuring high performance, security, and seamless integration with front-end components and third-party services. The successful candidate will have experience leveraging AI to improve their accuracy and productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Implement AI harnessing frameworks to improve output.

· Design and implement backend architecture using .NET Framework / .NET 8 and C# aided by AI to achieve faster and more accurate outcomes.

· Leverage GitHub Copilot AI daily to deliver accurate, performant, and strong solutions to problems in record time.

· Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for web and mobile applications. 

· Optimize application performance, scalability, and security across distributed systems. 

· Implement database solutions (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and ensure efficient query performance.

· Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers. 

· Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions. 

· Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection protocols. 

· Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. 

· Stay current with emerging .NET technologies and cloud-native development trends. 

· Follow a TDD methodology.

· Stay current with latest AI trends, models, and workflows. 

May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. 

· 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with .NET technologies. 

· Experience using AI assistant tools such as Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar.

· Experience with LLM harnessing and applying guardrails.

· Strong proficiency in C#, .NET 8 or above, and Web API. 

· Expertise in SQL Server and relational database design; experience with PostgreSQL is a plus. 

· Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles. 

· Familiarity with Agile/Kanban methodologies. 

· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

· Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems. 

· Experience with Dapper, or other ORMs. 

· Exposure to DevSecOps practices, automated testing, and performance tuning.

TRAVEL 

This position will require travel of approximately 25% of the work time. For example, travel would include:

· Visiting the Lakeland office one week per month aligned with Senior Leadership meeting schedule.
