Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Metrapolis Behavioral Center, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, culturally responsive therapy to individuals, couples, and families through both in-person and telehealth sessions.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to formulate personalized treatment plans based on clients’ unique needs and backgrounds.
  • Create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters open communication and healing.
  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including CBT or EMDR, to effectively address client concerns and promote positive outcomes.
  • Document client progress and treatment interactions in an electronic health record (EHR) system while ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultations to collaborate with colleagues and share insights to improve client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve at Metrapolis Behavioral Center are diverse, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our focus is on those from varied cultural backgrounds, with a special emphasis on providing services that resonate with the Latino community. You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate personal and relational challenges, ensuring they receive therapy that respects their cultural identities.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree from an accredited program in Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, allowing for bilingual therapy and client interactions.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting, particularly with families and children.
  • Respect for and sensitivity to the cultural needs of clients and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Training in evidenced-based treatments such as CBT, TF-CBT, or EMDR.
Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, the following experiences are preferred:

  • Specialized training or experience in areas such as trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, grief and loss, or perinatal mental health.
  • Prior experience working as an in-network provider with insurance panels.
  • Proficient use of various technology tools, including EHR systems and software like Microsoft Office.
