Position Summary

This is a full-cycle, outbound-led sales role covering Indiana and Ohio. You'll own everything from first cold call or knock on the door through discovery, proposal, negotiation, closing, and initial account management โ€” building a book of business that's yours from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting (~50% of your time)

  • Build and work a pipeline through outbound cold calls, door-to-door canvassing, email sequences, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Target 40โ€“60 outbound dials and, on field days, 15โ€“25 door-to-door business visits.
  • Discovery & Demos (~20%)

  • Run consultative discovery calls to uncover a prospect's real pain points โ€” speed, reliability, cost, or security.
  • Present tailored proposals built around what you learn, not a generic pitch.
  • Negotiation & Closing (~10%)

  • Handle objections, finalize terms, and get contracts signed and installs scheduled.
  • Account Management (~10%)

  • Own post-install check-ins, early service questions, and upsell opportunities for your first 6โ€“12 months of customers.
  • Admin & Reporting (~10%)

  • Keep the pipeline tracker current daily and come prepared to weekly pipeline reviews with your manager.

  • Requested Qualifications

  • 2โ€“5 years of B2B outside sales experience โ€” telecom, SaaS, or services background preferred; door-to-door experience is a strong plus.
  • A self-starter who picks up the phone and knocks on doors without being told โ€” comfortable with high-volume outreach.
  • Lives in or is willing to be based in the Indiana/Ohio territory, with regular travel across both states.
  • Coachable โ€” takes feedback well, asks questions, and applies what they learn.
  • Resilient โ€” has faced real rejection in a sales role and kept going.
  • Comfortable explaining fiber, fixed wireless, and basic cybersecurity concepts to a non-technical small business owner.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer/tablet, telephone, and keyboard.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work, and required driving.
    • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
    • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
    • May be required to operate general office equipment including but not limited to copiers, printers.
    • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and traverse job sites for extended periods.

Duties may also require as needed:

    • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 50โ€“100 lbs (frequently or repetitively depending on task).
    • Ability to move equipment up and down stairs when necessary.
    • Ability to work outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions year-round, including harsh environments.
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Ability to ride in a vehicle for extended periods when traveling to job sites.
