Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic urgent care team at Hawthorne Health Care Partners, Inc., located in Lancaster, New York. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a diverse range of patients, while playing a vital role in their health education and disease prevention.

Work Environment

The work setting for this position is onsite at our well-established hospital facility in Lancaster. Our urgent care department is designed to support fast-paced medical care, ensuring that patients receive timely interventions for acute illnesses and injuries. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside experienced physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff, all committed to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including medical history taking, physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Perform appropriate medical procedures and minor surgical interventions, such as laceration repairs or abscess drainage, under the guidance of attending physicians.
  • Provide education to patients on medical conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to enhance their overall wellness and health maintenance.
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately and promptly within the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Respond to urgent health concerns and triage patients efficiently to optimize care delivery in a busy urgent care setting.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population in the urgent care setting, including individuals of all ages with acute medical issues ranging from minor injuries to more serious conditions requiring immediate attention. The focus will be on delivering compassionate care to each patient, addressing their unique situations, and ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout their treatment process.

Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, holding a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
  • Possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently, while still collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in an urgent care or emergency department setting.
  • Experience in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient documentation and tracking.
  • Familiarity with urgent care protocols and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 150,000 to 180,000 yearly, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid time off, and professional liability coverage.
