CNC Mill Set-Up Programmer – 1st Shift

Mecca Talent is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Set-Up Programmer for a 1st-shift manufacturing opportunity. This position requires a skilled CNC machinist with strong setup and programming capabilities and hands-on experience with horizontal CNC machining centers.

This is an experienced-level position for someone capable of independently setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and operating CNC milling equipment.

Position Details

Position: CNC Mill Set-Up Programmer
Shift: 1st Shift
Starting Pay: $35.00 per hour
Experience: 5+ years required

Higher compensation is available and will be considered based on the candidate’s CNC programming, setup, and horizontal machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate horizontal CNC machining centers
• Independently take jobs from blueprint through completed part
• Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs
• Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
• Determine proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies
• Establish and adjust tool and work offsets
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Make program and machine adjustments to maintain required tolerances
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify completed parts
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues
• Identify opportunities to improve cycle times and machining processes
• Maintain accurate setup, tooling, program, and production documentation
• Follow all established safety and quality procedures

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC milling, setup, and programming experience
• Horizontal CNC machining experience is required
• Strong CNC setup and programming capabilities
• Ability to independently set up and operate horizontal machining centers
• Strong blueprint-reading skills
• Understanding of tooling, fixtures, work holding, speeds, feeds, and offsets
• Experience maintaining tight tolerances and producing precision-machined components
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Strong machining troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and safety

Compensation

Starting pay is $35.00 per hour.

Mecca Talent is willing to negotiate above the posted rate for candidates with advanced horizontal CNC machining, setup, and programming experience.
