General information:

  • Starting pay: $19.25 per hour
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Preferred candidates reside withinapproximately one hour of Medina, OH
  • Frequent travel and overnight stays are required based on business and route coverage needs
  • Company vehicle provided for routes, along with a company tablet and phone
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

General Purpose:

Transport and collect samples, distribute supplies, and monitor coolers and ice machines at assigned customer locations. Provide relief coverage for all ELS sample collection routes within the DFA Mideast Area when an assigned driver is unavailable for any reason. When not providing route coverage, support transportation, and laboratory operations, projects, and related functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and transport samples from assigned customer locations to the central laboratory according to the established schedules
  • Keep transportation supervisor informed of any requests or concerns brought to the couriers' attention by customers
  • Record sample, route, and cooler information on required forms and logs, including arrival and departure times
  • Report any route delays, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, or other issues encountered during collection runs
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in good working order and notify management of maintenance needs or mechanical issues
  • Clean and maintain sample coolers at collection locations and service log tags as necessary
  • Travel overnight as required to support sample collection routes, including frequent overnights stays based on route coverage
  • Support transportation and laboratory operations, projects, and related functions as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must obtain any certifications/licenses required by regulatory agencies as a condition of continued employment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel to ensure customer needs and requirements are met
  • Must have basic proficiency using technology (laptop, tablet, cell phone)
  • Valid driver's license with no significant restrictions or violations
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
