Job description

Description The Mechanic/ Tire Technician is responsible for mounting, dismounting, balancing, rotation, and repairing all McKenzie County vehicles and equipment. This position is located in Watford City, ND and scheduled for Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires on vehicles and equipment. Inspect the tires for damage and wear, perform tire rotations Perform preventative maintenance services, inspections, diagnosis and repair of County vehicles and equipment Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and hydraulics Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other McKenzie County personnel regarding vehicle and equipment maintenance Troubleshoot vehicle and equipment breakdowns and failures Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with the County standards Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Routinely travel to various locations across McKenzie County Other duties as assigned for business needs Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED One (1) years' experience as a Tire Tech, Mechanic, Hydraulics Valid Class A driver's license preferred Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification for Diesel Engines and/or Heavy Equipment preferred Strong diagnostic skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to report to Watford City, ND daily at required schedule time Physical requirements and working conditions: Able to handle exposure to noise and extreme weather conditions Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively.
