Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for a skilled HVAC Foreman to join our Mechanical team for some exciting projects in Phoenix, AZ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Foreman in commercial construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and technology used in the construction industry.
  • Supervision and guidance of crews with 1-8 individuals.
  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical license as required by local jurisdiction and EPA certification required or Hold and retain relevant H/CFC universal license.  
  • Diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems and components
  • Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment are in safe operating condition.  
  • Comprehends technical information and blueprints for quick execution.  
  • Provide a safe work environment for all trade partners. Assist Corporate Safety Managers as requested.
  • OSHA 10 OR 30 certification.
  • Client satisfaction; Maintain positive and professional relationships with all clients.
  • Work within the perimeters of trade specific project budget.
  • Ensure quality craftsmanship on trade specific system installations.
  • Plan specific trade installation approach and procedures.
  • Schedule daily and weekly trade activities.
  • Trade related material, tool, and equipment requisitions.
  •  Conflict resolution and indirect supervision.
  •  Monitor progress, performance, and quality of work for Subcontractors and vendors.
  •  Development of detailed workplans and THA.
  •  Performs technical responsibilities.
  •  Coordinate required jurisdictional inspections and maintain good working relationships with inspectors.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques, and procedures.
  • Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.
  • Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
  • Review, analyze, and update Labor Hours/Job Costs Report information with project management on weekly basis.
  • Ensure accurate and complete cost coding of timecards daily.

ADDITIONAL

  • Skilled specialist or holds certificate in the trade.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • HVAC or construction-related certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience as a General Foreman is preferred.
