The Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting daily operations, driving process improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of a historic mill within the McKinley division of Bio Pappel.

  • Coordinate product development activities in collaboration with Production, Sales, and Corporate teams.
  • Work with Engineering, Production, Technical, and Process Control teams to review and recommend equipment or process changes.
  • Collect and analyze process data using statistical methods to support process improvements and trial evaluations.
  • Identify and trial new process materials in partnership with Production teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Participate in cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support weekend duty coverage as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or a closely related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in a relevant industry preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with production systems such as Pi, ParcView, and ERP systems (especially SAP) is helpful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical reports and present to small groups.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-engineering staff.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity.
