GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and McGregor Metal quality standards. This position supports manufacturing by identifying quality concerns, documenting inspection results, communicating issues promptly, and working with production teams to maintain product integrity. The Quality Technician uses measuring equipment, interprets work instructions and blueprints, and helps drive continuous improvement through accuracy, attention to detail, and teamwork.

Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
2. Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
3. Interpret work instructions, inspection procedures, and basic blueprints to determine inspection requirements.
4. Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records, including inspection reports and sort logs.
5. Identify, segregate, and process nonconforming material according to established quality procedures.
6. Communicate quality concerns, defects, and questionable conditions immediately to Quality and Production leadership.
7. Support containment activities, customer sort operations, and corrective actions as assigned.
8. Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
9. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.
10. Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of quality inspection methods and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Basic blueprint reading and print interpretation skills preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with production and quality personnel.
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing production needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• The Quality Technician role requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing. The employee may need to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout a ten (10) hour shift. This role also requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Associates must be able to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may vary and are not climate controlled, including hot summer and cold winter conditions.
