Job Summary:
Maxima is building an agentic AI platform to automate enterprise accounting. As a senior/staff frontend engineer, you will own the user-facing surfaces of our enterprise accounting automation platform, tackling challenges such as designing UX patterns and architecting performant interfaces for complex financial workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Designing and building UX patterns for agentic workflows
• Architecting performant, data-dense interfaces for complex financial workflows
• Building and scaling our design system and component architecture across an expanding product surface
• Translating intricate accounting workflows into clean, intuitive interfaces that's enterprise user friendly
• Own major product surfaces end-to-end and work closely with customers to shape what we build.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Typically 5+ years building production web applications at high-growth companies
• Deep expertise in modern frontend — React, TypeScript, and the broader ecosystem
• Strong eye for design and interaction details
• Comfort going beyond the frontend when needed — touching APIs, schemas, or backend code to ship a feature end-to-end
Preferred:
• Experience building data-dense interfaces or streaming/agentic UX patterns is a strong plus
• Loves in-person culture, we are 5 days a week in office in downtown San Mateo
