Maverick Learning Center

The Special Education Teacher will work primarily with mixed age groups of students with autism, providing individualized support within classrooms with a typical student-teacher ratio of 1:6. This role involves developing and delivering adapted curriculum and managing classroom behavior while occasionally collaborating with other specialists to meet each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct classroom instruction tailored to students with autism
• Manage student behavior effectively
• Conduct ongoing student assessments and progress monitoring
• Collaborate occasionally with other educational specialists
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
• Develop and adapt curriculum to support diverse learning needs

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in special education
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• State Special Education Teaching Certification
• Strong classroom management skills
• Proficiency in instructional strategies for special education
• Demonstrated adaptability in educational settings
