About the Role
Do you enjoy working with kids and helping them build confidence in math? We're looking for full-time Lead Instructors to work at our Clifton Park location.
At Mathnasium, we're not just about getting the correct answers. We help students feel capable, encouraged, and even excited about math. You'll use our proven Mathnasium Method to support kids in a warm, structured environment that makes math make sense.
This is an excellent opportunity for college students, future teachers, or anyone who loves math and wants to make a positive impact.
Responsibilities
  • Instruction & Mentoring: Teach and mentor students of all ages (K-12) using the proprietary Mathnasium curriculum, helping them achieve mastery and build confidence
  • Leadership & Coaching: Serve as a positive role model and coach to part-time instructors, ensuring high-quality instruction and adherence to Mathnasium best practices
  • Engagement & Motivation: Proactively create a fun, engaging, and energetic atmosphere in the center. Use creative methods to inspire students and maintain their enthusiasm for math
  • Curriculum Mastery: Quickly become proficient in the Mathnasium teaching method and curriculum materials
  • Center Operations: Assist the Center Director with administrative tasks, student assessments, parent communication, and general center flow, especially during peak hours

Qualifications
  • Math Proficiency: Must possess an excellent command of mathematics from K-12 (including advanced High School math)
  • Experience: Previous teaching, tutoring, or instructional leadership experience is highly preferred
  • Soft Skills: Must be extremely engaging, enthusiastic, motivating, and patient with students. You should have a proven ability to connect with and inspire children and teens
  • Reliability: Must be reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the required 30+ hours per week schedule
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree (or pursuing one) in a related field (Mathematics, Education, Engineering, etc.) is strongly preferred

Schedule
Minimum 20+ hours per week, with primary hours during afternoon/evening and weekend hours when students are available

Compensation: $22.50 per hour
Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.
