Job description

The PCP Material Handler is responsible for moving materials and assisting with the assembly and testing of components to ensure they meet design specifications prior to shipment to the customer.

Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):

  • High school diploma or equivalent considered an asset;

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar or related role;
  • Overhead crane, skid steer, forklift experience considered an asset.

Technical Requirements (software or program knowledge needed):

  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook;

  • Microsoft based ERP System.

Skills:

  • Works well in a team environment;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Able to perform under minimal supervision;
  • High attention to detail with numeric data output.

Competencies Required (FYI Book):

  • Customer Focus;
  • Drive for Results;
  • Integrity and Trust;
  • Dealing with Ambiguity.

HSE Requirements (Training and Physical Requirements):

  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Training
  • HSE Orientation

This position is classified as safety sensitive, and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.

  • Sort, load/unload, palletize/de-palletize raw materials and finished goods;

  • Prepare product for testing; identifying proper components needed;

  • Assemble parts as per customer order and/or direction from Senior Technician/Shop Foreman;

  • Use of overhead crane, skid steer, bobcat to move product/material as required;

  • Complete testing and prepare testing report

  • Ensure testing meets specified requirements

  • Inform Production Supervisor of any stock shortages 

  • Grind rotors when welds are complete

  • Actively contributes to lean, quality and safety initiatives;

  • Paint and stamp stators as per MO requirements

  • Load/Unload and secure product on delivery trucks;

  • Verify truck load to ensure conformance with shipping documents

  • General housekeeping;

  • Other duties as assigned.
