What You Will Do

As the Assistant General Manager, you will:

• Partner closely with the General Manager as their key operational leader and trusted second-in-command
• Support all aspects of daily hotel operations while ensuring Marriott brand standards are consistently met
• Collaborate with department leaders to deliver exceptional guest service, quality, and operational performance
• Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop department leaders and team members
• Ensure compliance with company policies, Marriott brand standards, and safety regulations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense control
• Analyze operational performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability
• Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are maintained
• Foster a positive, accountable, and engaging team culture
• Serve as Manager on Duty and provide leadership during assigned shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Marriott hotel experience strongly preferred
• Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager, Department Head, or similar hotel leadership role
• Experience managing multiple hotel departments and operational functions
• Knowledge of hotel financials, labor management, and budgeting
• Familiarity with Marriott systems, hotel property management systems, and reporting tools
• Strong understanding of Marriott guest service standards and hotel operations
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred

Physical Requirements and Essential Job Functions

This position requires both administrative and operational responsibilities. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the property
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
• Travel between guest areas, meeting spaces, and operational departments
• Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
• Respond to operational and guest service issues in a timely manner
• Maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced hospitality environment
