Marquette University invites nominations and applications for an inspiring and strategic leader to serve as its next Vice President for Mission & Ministry- a pivotal role at one of the nation's leading Catholic, Jesuit universities.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a university deeply committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service - and to advance a mission that forms students to become leaders "for and with others." Reporting directly to the president and serving on the President's Cabinet, the Vice President for Mission & Ministry will guide mission integration across academic, student life, and community engagement efforts at a transformative moment in Marquette's history. This role will play a central role in bringing the vision from the institutional strategic plan to life - strengthening Catholic, Jesuit identity while engaging a diverse, global community of learners.
The Vice President for Mission & Ministry will:
  • Serve as a compelling ambassador for Marquette's Catholic, Jesuit mission on campus and beyond.
  • Foster mission integration in academic programs, student formation, and campus culture.
  • Provide innovative leadership for Campus Ministry and Ignatian spirituality initiatives.
  • Partner with faculty and administrators to embed mission in hiring, development, and decision-making.
  • Champion inclusion, dialogue, and care for the whole person (cura personalis).

This role offers the chance to shape a national model for Jesuit higher education - ensuring that mission is not only preserved but dynamically lived in a rapidly changing world.
