Job description

Step into a vital role with Column Technical Services as a Logistics Associate and be part of a team that keeps healthcare operations running smoothly from behind the scenes. Shifts:  Mon-Fri., 3 shifts = 10a-6p, 11a-7p, 2p-10A

This role supports both supply chain operations and facility readiness across all company's clinical and non-clinical areas. The individual will be responsible for ordering, maintaining, and distributing appropriate levels of medical supplies, equipment, and linens to meet established par levels across inpatient and outpatient settings. In collaboration with clinical and administrative leaders, the role helps select appropriate materials and supports optimal, cost-efficient patient care. Coordination with vendors and internal support teams (e.g., Plant Operations, Facilities Management, Safety, Environmental Services) ensures that all assigned areas-from nurse servers to consultation rooms-remain well-stocked, orderly, and aligned with institutional standards.

Supply Ordering & Inventory Management
  • Conduct routine inventory assessments and place supply orders, as applicable, to maintain established stock levels in all assigned areas according to departmental schedules.
  • Perform detailed counts of inventory in designated supply locations and determine replenishment needs to restore items to approved par levels; submit orders through the inventory management system (e.g., Helios).
  • Process requests for additional inventory, including non-standard supplies, patient charge items, and quantities exceeding standard par levels, as directed by leadership and clinical staff.
  • Proactively monitor inventory shortages and initiate orders for low-stock or unavailable items to prevent disruptions; recommend suitable alternatives when necessary and coordinate with other departments to locate available stock.
  • Identify excess inventory and arrange returns for appropriate credit; communicate overstock concerns to management daily.
  • Review backorder reports regularly to track outstanding orders and promptly notify management of critical supply shortages to support timely replenishment.
  • Monitor usage trends and maintain close oversight of high-demand and fast-moving inventory items.
  • Recommend adjustments to par levels based on utilization patterns and departmental needs; participate in inventory planning discussions with administrative and clinical leadership.
  • Utilize approved paper-based and electronic systems to order supplies, process returns, and request inventory credits, including online Return Authorization submissions when required.
  • Ensure all purchase requests are completed accurately, including quantities, account and expense codes, cost centers, dates, and delivery locations.
  • Recognize opportunities to reduce costs and improve inventory efficiency; provide recommendations to management for process improvements.

Supply Distribution & Stock Replenishment
  • Deliver, organize, and stock supplies in designated locations while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and meeting departmental service timelines.
  • Store and distribute products according to established procedures, ensuring proper prioritization, organization, and stock rotation practices.
  • Deliver routine supplies and patient charge items daily.
  • Restock procedure carts and designated supply carts each day to ensure operational readiness.
  • Transport and replenish medications and FDA-regulated products, when applicable, in compliance with departmental policies and required turnaround times.
  • Maintain secure storage of all FDA-regulated products in accordance with the guidelines established.
  • Replenish supplies daily in nurse servers, medication rooms, supply closets, examination rooms, patient care areas, treatment rooms, laboratories, waiting areas, conference rooms, and consultation spaces.
  • Introduce yourself to patients and visitors when entering occupied patient rooms to promote a positive service experience.
  • Refill patient linen supplies and patient server areas daily, where applicable.


Required Skills & Experience:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in supply chain.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including regular exposure to refrigerated and cold-storage areas when supporting Food and Nutrition operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members, clinical staff, and departmental leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare, hospital, or clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, supply distribution, or materials management processes.
  • Experience supporting customer service functions in a healthcare or service-oriented setting.
