Job description

The Business Analyst II at Marco Technologies serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical development teams across Marco's internal platform ecosystem. This is a technically-oriented BA role requiring demonstrated understanding of API integrations, system architecture concepts, and software delivery pipelines - not just requirements documentation. The BA II is expected to operate independently within an Agile delivery environment, contribute meaningfully to sprint ceremonies, write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, and maintain alignment across cross-functional teams.
This role supports multiple internal platforms and works closely with application administrators, QA team, and internal development team to ensure features are well-defined, technically feasible, and delivered with quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Requirements & Analysis
    • Elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process analysis
    • Translate business needs into clear, concise user stories with acceptance criteria using behavior-driven formats (e.g., Given/When/Then)
    • Analyze current-state systems and workflows; identify gaps and propose future-state solutions
    • Document data flows, integration points, and system dependencies including API request/response behavior
    • Maintain traceability between business requirements, user stories, and test cases
  • Technical Collaboration
    • Engage directly with development teams to clarify technical requirements and validate that proposed solutions meet business needs
    • Review and contribute to API documentation, including understanding of REST/JSON payloads, request structures, error handling, and field mapping
    • Participate in technical design discussions; surface business impact of architectural decisions
    • Support integration analysis when third-party systems, APIs, or data sources are involved
    • Collaborate with QA to develop test scenarios; assist in UAT coordination and defect triage
  • Agile Delivery
    • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
    • Manage and maintain the product backlog in Azure DevOps (ADO), including Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and Bugs
    • Contribute to sprint capacity planning; assist in effort estimation with development teams
    • Apply pull-based or flow-driven delivery principles; support release candidate readiness processes
    • Communicate sprint status, risks, and blockers clearly and proactively to stakeholders and leadership
  • Stakeholder Communication & Documentation
    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholder and technical teams
    • Produce audience-appropriate documentation: executive summaries, BRDs, SOPs, release notes, and process flows
    • Facilitate working sessions and demos; capture decisions and action items
    • Create wireframes and process diagrams to communicate requirements visually using tools such as Miro and Figma

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of business analysis experience in a technical or software delivery environment
  • Ability to read and interpret REST API documentation and JSON/XML request-response structures
  • Proficient in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow documentation
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling
  • Hands-on experience with the following tools: Azure DevOps, Microsoft Suite, Miro, and Claude (Anthropic)
  • Strong communication skills bridging technical and business audiences
  • CSM, PMI-PBA, CBAP/CCBA, or SAFe certification preferred
  • Experience working with external development vendors or managed service providers is preferred
