Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and assessments, tailoring individualized therapy strategies to meet client needs.
• Provide therapeutic services grounded in evidence-based practices, including group, individual, and family sessions.
• Deploy various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy, adapting approaches based on client response.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care plans and ensure positive client outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices in mental health treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Maple Valley Counseling Center serves a diverse clientele, with a particular focus on individuals and families facing barriers to accessing mental health care. You will work with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, and relationship issues. Your empathetic approach and culturally competent skills will be crucial in building rapport with clients from various backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Must hold a current and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of professional counseling experience, preferably within a clinical setting.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use disorders is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to use various therapeutic techniques and adapt them to suit different client needs.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 – 90,000 per year. Compensation is commensurate with experience and workload. We provide robust support for billing and documentation processes, allowing you to focus more on direct client care. Additionally, you will receive numerous client referrals to maintain a steady caseload, further facilitating your professional growth.
