Job description

DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineer is required to have knowledge of part manufacturing, machine setup and part programming required in manufacturing process development. The position requires the employee to maintain company standards, ability to perform reliable work with attention to details, and demonstrate superior cleanliness and organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Practice safety standards as identified by the Company Handbook, orientation, and verbal instruction from supervisory staff. This includes safety glasses, proper shoes, and lifting techniques.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Proficient with computer software in order to perform required tasks. This includes Solid Works, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD and also have some experience with G code programming or CAM software.
  • Must have knowledge of G code programming-manual and using CAM software
  • Creating engineering documents. This includes drawings, inspection documents, tool layouts, offset sheets, operator and setup instructions
  • Responsible for the accuracy and security of engineering documents .This includes maintaining current revision levels.
  • Must have full understanding of tooling applications (speed and feeds)
  • Ordering initial tooling for new jobs
  • Must assist setup personnel in troubleshooting initial and existing jobs
  • Production process development and improvements. This includes contacting customers and working with vendors
  • Helping and training Engineering Assistant /Apprentice.

  • Must fully understand GDT
  • Must be able to communicate with vendors and customers.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee might be exposed to moving mechanical parts and chemicals such as oils and solvents. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, High school diploma, or some college with minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
