Manhattan Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our growing team. Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their unique emotional and psychological needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, addressing challenges related to aging, self-identity, life transitions, and emotional well-being.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and families to support each client's unique challenges and goals.
• Provide education and resources to families and caregivers on enhancing emotional well-being and navigating end-of-life issues.
• Conduct grief counseling and support sessions for individuals and their families experiencing loss, assisting them in coping strategies and healing processes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on geriatric patients, many of whom face significant emotional challenges stemming from health issues, loss of loved ones, and transitions associated with aging. You will engage with clients in a compassionate manner, helping them navigate their emotions and providing assistance tailored to their individual life circumstances. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of three years of direct, applicable experience in mental health counseling, specifically working with geriatric populations is essential.
• Current, state-mandated LMHC license to practice is necessary to legally provide counseling services.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy to comfortably engage clients in discussions about sensitive topics.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within community health settings or clinics focusing on elderly care is highly preferable.
• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, crisis intervention, and case management practices is an asset.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and technologies that support remote counseling.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 85,000 – 100,000 annually, dependent on experience and hours worked. In addition to a robust salary, successful candidates will receive a substantial sign-on bonus to support their transition into the team.
