Event Security Officer - Irvine, CA

Event Location: Anaheim, CA
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Temporary / Special Event
Event Dates: September 3 - September 16
Main Event Days: September 11, 12 & 13
Schedule: Day, Swing, and Graveyard shifts available. Shift lengths may range from 8-12 hours, including weekends.

Position Overview

Treston Security Services is actively hiring professional Event Security Officers to support a large-scale convention taking place in Anaheim, California.

This assignment offers an excellent opportunity to work one of Southern California's premier special events while gaining valuable experience in convention and event security. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for attendees, exhibitors, vendors, and event staff while delivering exceptional customer service.

Candidates should be dependable, professional, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Essential Job Duties
  • Monitor assigned access control points and designated event areas.

  • Verify credentials and control access to authorized locations.

  • Conduct foot patrols throughout exhibit halls, registration areas, lobbies, and other assigned posts.

  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity.

  • Assist with crowd management, line control, and guest direction.

  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.

  • Complete accurate incident reports and required documentation.

  • Provide outstanding customer service while interacting with guests, exhibitors, and event personnel.

  • Follow post orders and directions from supervisors and event management.

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and assist with incident response when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid California Guard Card (Required)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to remain alert and professional in crowded environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous security experience.

  • Convention, event, hospitality, or customer service experience.

  • Experience with access control, crowd management, or public-facing security assignments.

  • Strong observation and report-writing skills.

Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation to the event location in Anaheim, CA.

  • Availability to work between September 3 and September 16, including the primary event days of September 11-13.

  • Ability to work Day, Swing, or Graveyard shifts.

  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Patrol large indoor event spaces.

  • Navigate crowded environments.

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Maintain situational awareness throughout the shift.
