Waterproofing Superintendent (solid foremen are encouraged to apply)

A specialized commercial construction services firm is seeking an experienced Waterproofing Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple commercial construction projects in the DFW metropolitan area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong expertise in building envelopes and waterproofing systems who thrive in fast-paced, high-exposure environments.

Position Summary

The Waterproofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to waterproofing and building envelope installations. This includes managing senior technicians and crews, coordinating project schedules, ensuring quality installation, and maintaining strict safety compliance.

This is a specialized superintendent role, not a general superintendent position, and requires deep knowledge of waterproofing systems, sequencing, and installation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise waterproofing foremen, crews, and subcontractors across multiple job sites

- Manage daily field operations, manpower planning, and project schedules

- Ensure work meets project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company standards

- Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to maintain proper sequencing

- Conduct quality control inspections and resolve installation challenges

- Enforce safety policies and maintain a strong safety culture on-site

- Provide technical expertise on waterproofing systems and complex details

- Track job progress, production, and reporting

Required Qualifications

- 5-10 years construction experience in a supervisory capacity

- Proven experience managing multiple crews and projects

- Advanced planning and organizational skills with ability to establish maximum workforce productivity

- Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines

- Strong communication and multi-tasking capabilities

- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications

- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred

Required Technical Experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of waterproofing systems including:

- Wall coatings and silicones

- All types of joint sealers and window glazing

- Traffic coatings, podium decks, and horizontal systems

- Roof paver systems

- Subterranean waterproofing

- Strong understanding of waterproofing sequencing and trade coordination

- Field oversight experience with all listed systems

Experience:

• superintendent or foreman: 5 years (Required)
• Waterproofing or Building Envelope experience
