Company Description Magnolia Pediatrics is a pediatric medical practice , in Prairieville, Louisiana.

Role Description The Medical Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Prairieville, LA, responsible for supporting daily front-desk operations in a pediatric medical office. This position manages patient check-in and check-out, verifies demographic and insurance information, and collects co-pays and required documentation. The role includes answering and directing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, and communicating messages between patients, families, and clinical staff in a professional and timely manner. The Medical Receptionist maintains organized patient records, helps ensure waiting areas are clean and welcoming, and follows office policies and privacy regulations. This role collaborates closely with nurses, physicians, and other team members to support efficient clinic flow and a positive experience for patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Appointment Scheduling skills, imconfirming visits, and coordinating follow-up appointments.
  • Candidates should demonstrate professional Phone Etiquette, with the ability to handle high call volumes, and communicate clearly and courteously.
  • Candidates should have experience with core Receptionist Duties, such as greeting patients, managing check-in/check-out, and handling front-desk administrative tasks.
  • Candidates should possess basic knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately relay information, understand provider instructions, and support documentation.
  • Candidates should have familiarity with Medical Office procedures, including insurance verification, medical record handling, and adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Additional qualifications include 1 year prior experience in a healthcare setting, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
