We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced medical writers with substantial expertise in pre-market clinical trials, clinical study reporting, and long-form regulatory document development.

This role supports advanced research workflows involving synthetic clinical trial data and Clinical Study Report (CSR) authorship. Selected professionals will generate and validate clinical data, develop complete CSR sections, and create reference materials and evaluation criteria for complex medical-writing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Study Report Authoring

• Draft complete, publication-quality sections of Clinical Study Reports
• Work across long-form clinical and regulatory documents requiring sustained consistency and technical accuracy
• Translate clinical trial data into clear, structured scientific narratives
• Ensure conclusions accurately reflect underlying study results
• Maintain consistency across tables, analyses, terminology, and narrative sections

Clinical Trial Data Review

• Work with synthetic clinical trial datasets representing Phase I-III studies
• Review clinical data for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and plausibility
• Identify inconsistencies, unsupported conclusions, or missing information
• Validate whether written interpretations are appropriately supported by the available data
• Apply practical knowledge of pre-market clinical development workflows

Clinical Data Generation

• Contribute to the creation of high-quality synthetic clinical trial data
• Develop realistic study scenarios and data patterns grounded in professional clinical-development experience
• Evaluate generated datasets for internal consistency and clinical credibility
• Identify unrealistic relationships, anomalies, or methodological weaknesses
• Support quality-control processes for data used in downstream research workflows

Medical Writing Task Development

• Design sophisticated medical-writing assignments based on realistic clinical workflows
• Develop clear task instructions and expected deliverables
• Create authoritative reference outputs for CSR and clinical-data tasks
• Define objective evaluation criteria for assessing completeness, accuracy, and scientific quality
• Ensure tasks reflect the standards expected of experienced professional medical writers

Scientific & Regulatory Quality Review

• Assess clinical narratives for scientific accuracy and appropriate interpretation
• Evaluate whether conclusions are proportionate to the underlying evidence
• Review documents for clarity, structure, traceability, and internal consistency
• Identify fabricated, unsupported, or overstated claims
• Ensure outputs demonstrate appropriate professional judgement throughout lengthy documents

Ideal Profile

• 5+ years of professional medical-writing experience, with 10-25 years preferred
• Extensive hands-on experience working with pre-market Phase I-III clinical trial data
• Demonstrated experience authoring Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and substantial sections of regulatory clinical documents
• Comfortable owning full-document and long-horizon writing assignments
• PhD or equivalent advanced academic/professional qualification
• Strong understanding of clinical-development workflows and study-data interpretation
• Ability to evaluate whether clinical conclusions are adequately supported by underlying evidence
• Exceptional scientific writing, editing, and quality-control skills
• Strong attention to detail across complex and lengthy documents
• Able to work independently and maintain consistency across multiple concurrent workflows
• Based in the United States, Canada, or France

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Minimum availability of approximately 20-25 hours per week
• Availability of 30+ hours per week is preferred
• Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
• Compensation: $80-$140/hour
• Work may include clinical-data generation, CSR authorship, reference-output development, and evaluation design
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, sponsor, client, institution, or other third party
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
