Job description

The Madison Public Schools is seeking an a personable and organized candidate with a passion to support education for the position of General Secretary at the Neck River Elementary School.  This temporary assignment would be through the end of October 2026.  This position will support the Administration of the Neck River Elementary School by assisting the staff and public with:  

  • answering phone calls and checking voicemails
  • greeting visitors and ensuring secure entry to the building
  • communicating student and staff absences / tardies / dismissals
  • updating and communicating student dismissal plans
  • maintaining student records
  • managing calendars

Requirements: At least one year of secretarial or office experience.  Strong working knowledge of database systems and other computer operating systems including Google and Microsoft suites.  Ability to multi-task and be organized.  Have a professional and welcoming demeanor.  
Work Schedule: 7.5 hours per day
Salary: $20.41 / hour
