CNC Machine Operator, Level III
Summary
Produces manufactured parts by operating and maintaining CNC machines fabricating parts and producing them according to blueprint design, ensuring quality and precision all while maintaining a level of consistent safety and quality.
LEVEL III Operator, Qualifications:
Level III Operators will possess 6-10 years of experience working in manufacturing and understanding technical drawings as well as the ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Job Responsibilities:
· Follows written/verbal directions and work procedures
· Basic tooling knowledge
· Basic knowledge of CNC machinery
· Load and unload parts into CNC machinery
· Operate to make parts to specifications
· Set-up and read gauges
· Set-up and touch-off
· Ability to understand machine codes
· Demonstrated ability to work well within a small team
· Put tools in the correct tool station.
· Find and load the program into the machine.
· Dry run program.
· Inspect parts and test parts for function and dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.
· Make judgement, initiate corrective action and adjust machine as required
· Make edits that are given to them on set up sheets or by programmer
· Can read and interpret blueprints.
· Responsible for their own work, product loss, and the equipment they operate
·Make edits as needed.
·Be able to write a tool program.
·Help in training level 1 and 2 operators.
·Supervise and train people in the department on the quality of parts and safety within the shop.
Technical Skills:
· Makes decisions on quality related issues
· Ability to read and inspect to blueprints using standard tools and gauges
· Proficient in CNC machining applications
· Basic machine shop math as well as trigonometry
· Basic computer data entry skills
Educational Qualifications:
· High school diploma, technical training and/or equivalent professional experience.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job:
· Required minimum lifting ability up to 50lbs
· Carrying parts from station to station in a safe manner
· Reports to the Production Supervisor.
Payrate Range:
$19ph (min) - $26ph (max)
