Role Description

Happy’s Heating & Air is seeking a full-time, on-site Journeyman HVAC Service Technician based in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This position is intended for an experienced HVAC professional who can confidently perform service calls and work independently in the field.

The technician will diagnose, repair, service, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and related components. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, completing repairs and preventive maintenance, checking electrical and mechanical components, handling refrigerants appropriately, documenting completed work, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.

Technicians will also communicate directly with customers, clearly explain findings and recommended repairs, and provide the professional and dependable service Happy’s customers expect.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level HVAC experience with the ability to independently diagnose, service, and repair HVAC systems
  • Applicable Oklahoma HVAC journeyman license/certification
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify the root cause of system failures
  • Experience servicing residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems
  • Knowledge of refrigerant handling and applicable EPA requirements
  • EPA Section 608 certification preferred
  • Strong HVAC electrical knowledge, including reading wiring diagrams and safely diagnosing electrical components
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and system performance checks
  • Ability to safely use standard HVAC tools, meters, gauges, diagnostic equipment, and safety equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to clearly explain findings and recommendations
  • Dependable, professional, and capable of managing service calls independently
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of HVAC field work, including lifting, climbing, working outdoors, and working in attics, crawlspaces, and other varying environments
