Position Summary

As an Architectural Forensic Project Coordinator, you will support both forensic investigations and architectural design projects. This role combines office-based design and documentation with field work, building assessments, client interaction, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, technically strong, and excited to learn how buildings perform, why failures occur, and how effective repair solutions are developed.

Key Responsibilities

Forensic Architecture

  • Assist with field investigations of residential and commercial properties.
  • Document building conditions involving fire, water intrusion, storm damage, structural movement, tree impacts, and construction defects.
  • Collect measurements, photographs, and field observations.
  • Utilize laser scanning, drone technology, Matterport systems, and other digital documentation tools.
  • Develop repair recommendations and prepare technical reports.
  • Assist in analyzing building code compliance and construction practices.

Architectural Design & Documentation

  • Collaborate with project managers and the Architect to develop innovative design solutions.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, construction documents, details, and specifications.
  • Create 3D models, renderings, and BIM documentation using Revit.
  • Conduct building code and zoning research.
  • Support permit submissions and regulatory approvals.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Project Coordination

  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project presentations.
  • Maintain project documentation and quality control standards.
  • Support construction administration activities during project execution.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • 2 to 6 years of architectural experience, including internships or professional practice.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the region.
  • Must be US citizen or Green Card to apply.
  • Must reside in the US.

Preferred

  • Field experience in construction, inspections, or building assessments.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
  • Knowledge of IBC, IRC, and local building codes.
  • Experience with point cloud modeling, laser scanning, drone operations, or Matterport technology.
  • Interest in forensic architecture, building science, and construction failure analysis.
