Procurement & Retail Event Coordinator

Overview

MTY Food Group is seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement & Retail Event Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of all corporate, procurement, and retail-related events across Canada. Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement and the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will be responsible for managing golf-related events (MTY and retail), supplier and procurement-led events, MTY summits, corporate internal events in collaboration with Human Resources, and participation in trade shows, as well as coordinating all related travel logistics.

This role requires a confident communicator with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be comfortable reaching out to new contacts, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring all events are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with MTY’s brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all MTY-related events across Canada, including:
    • Golf tournaments and golf-related events (MTY-led and retail-sponsored)
    • Retail and procurement events
    • MTY summits, meetings, and internal conferences
    • Trade shows and industry events

·         Retailer/customer presentation and tasting session set-up and planning (Ex.: Sobeys, Metro, LCL,Costco)

  • Manage events end-to-end, including concept development, logistics, vendor coordination, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up
  • Ensure all events align with MTY Food Group’s corporate objectives, brand standards, and budgetary guidelines
  • Coordinate all event-related travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, ground transportation, and itineraries
  • Manage logistics for speakers, executives, suppliers, and attendees
  • Ensure timely communication of travel details and event schedules to all stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective execution
  • Coordinate MTY’s participation in trade shows, including booth logistics, materials, and supplier coordination
  • Liaise with event organizers and exhibitors
  • Ensure timely delivery and setup of marketing materials, signage, and promotional items

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in event coordination, corporate events, procurement support, or a similar role
  • Experience working with suppliers, vendors, and external partners
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable initiating contact and building relationships with new stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with event or project management tools is an asset
  • Ability to travel nationally across Canada as required
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset
